2017- HortiIndia
‘Horti India 2017’ was organized on 9th -10th February 2017 by Institute of Horticulture Technology at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The theme of ‘Horti India 2017’ was “Conventional and Alternate Horticultural Production Systems”. Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India was co-organizer for the event. The event was inaugurated and chaired by Dr. Najma A Heptulla, Hon’ble Governor, Manipur.
A large number of farmers from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and surrounding areas participated in the event. Participants from various countries like Tunisia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Sudan, Tajikistan, Palestine, Vietnam, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, and Kenya attended the event.
The distinguished luminaries arrived on the occasion were from Ministries of Science and Technology Food Processing, Chemical and Fertilizers, Statistical & Programme Implementation, Govt. of India; Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India; Dept. of Horticulture, Chhattisgarh; Indian Council of Agricultural Research; Central Agricultural University; Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD, Manipur); Dr. YSR Horticultural University, Andhra Pradesh; International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Telangana; Indian Agricultural Research Institute (I.A.R.I.), New Delhi; Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (CISH), Lucknow and Akhil Bhartiya Grameen Vikas Sanstha, Greater Noida.
The event was organized to demonstrate the innovative technologies to the farmers to empower them with the latest techniques, face to face interaction with the experts from the horticulture industry and to provide “Hands on training” by the faculty and the foreign visiting faculty of the institute.
