Exposition of End to End Cutting Edge Technologies on Fruits, Vegetables, Medicinal, Aromatic and Ornamental Crop Production
With the objective of providing exposure on modern production technology of various Horticultural Crops, Institute has established a Technology Park in Greater Noida, NCR Delhi and Northeast Centre, Mandira, Kamrup, Assam which houses number of facilities for showcasing innovative technologies and hands on trainings to the trainees.
The Institute is recognized as a Resource Centre for Hi Tech Horticultural Trainings in India. The Institute has also an in house R&D Centre recognised by DSIR, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The centre has micro-irrigation & fertigation systems, modern seedlings production technology of fruits, vegetables, floriculture and aromatic & medicinal plants and series of the greenhouses ranging from walk in tunnels to fully automated intelligent greenhouses as well as open cultivation area act as centre of excellence for Technology Exposition and hands on training in Hi-Tech Horticulture.
The Institute has highly motivated and committed faculty to ensure that the Institute not only maintains its position in the country but also attracts global attention for striving towards a hunger-free world. In this context the Institute collaborates with Wageningen University & Research, The Netherlands for faculty trainings.
The Institute has established North Eastern Training Centre in Assam in 2017 to cater to rising needs of the prospective entrepreneurs and farmers of the region, the Institute has grown faster in recent years and is fully promoting Horticulture Sector by Technology demonstration of Crop Production Modules with Technological Intervention in Farmers fields in Manipur, Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and other states.
The technology interventions for cultivation of fruits, vegetables, aromatic and ornamental crops are showcased in IHT, Greater Noida. The trainees will have unique opportunity to see the standing crops like tomato, capsicum, cucumber in greenhouses and work there for hands on trainings sessions. The open field cultivation of the crops is also showcased with technological interventions for the trainees.
